Richard Wright - Author, Journalist, Poet
Died: November 28th, 1960
Richard Wright was one of the most controversial Race writers of the 20th century. He is most famous for his books Native Son and Black Boy, both novels about the many difficulties African-Americans faced growing up in the 1930s and 1940s.

- Richard Wright published his first work at the age of 16 years old.
- He was the first African-American to have his book selected in the national Book Of The Month Club in 1940.
- Wright has almost 30 works published.
