Died: February 25th, 1989


Ann Cole Lowe was the first Black noted fashion designer. She became famous after designing Jacqueline Bouvier's wedding dress for her ceremony with then Senator John F. Kennedy. Lowe was born in Clayton, Alabama and began sewing at the age of 16 years old.
