Angela Davis - Activist, Author, Educator
Born: January 26th, 1944

Angela Davis is one of the most influential and radical activist of our time. Davis is most famous for her arrest in 1970 on charges like murder and kidnapping. She was allegedly involvement with the attempted escape of George Lester Jackson, an inmate thought wrongfully accused of murdering a prison guard. (For the full story on biography.com click here)

• Angela Davis is a former member of the Black Panthers.
• She knew several of the young women killed in the Birmingham church bombing of 1963.
