BHM Stylin': Hattie McDaniel

Hattie McDaniel opened the doors for African-American performers. She used her talents to set the way for black actors, and we are forever indebted to her.

McDaniel was the first black women to sing on radio, and in 1940 she was the first Black actress to win an Oscar for her supporting role in Gone With The Wind.
